Why will there be no update to LoL for a long time?
Riot will not be working on its productions for a while. When will the creators return?
Riot Games is one of the largest game development companies. League of Legends is without a doubt one of the largest productions on the market, and apart from it, the studio also works on many games, such as mobile Wild Rift or Valorant.
Virtually every game requires constant attention from the developers, and regular updates show that the designers are constantly working on them. However, every employee deserves a break, and in Riot Games summer is associated with vacation for their devs. When does League of Legends developers begin their hiatus, and when will they return to work?
Holidays for Riot
There is an entry on the official Riot website where you can read that Riot is taking a break. From July 4, the creators will not work for a week.
Riot’s taking the week of July 4th off to rest, recharge, and stretch our wrists. This will be our third year taking a summer break so we’re getting the drill down now. Patch timelines may shift to accommodate the change, and, if so, individual game teams will send out the specifics.
In the meantime, some teams like our live operations, anticheat, and security teams will be staggering their breaks to make sure everything keeps running smoothly throughout the break. Knowing Rioters, you’ll probably see more of us spending this week on the Rift, figuring out the angles on Pearl, and searching for the perfect Dragon to round out our comps.
Due to the fact that Riot will be absent for the next week, Update 12.12 has received additional fixes in 12.12b, which hit the servers on June 30. In addition, one employee reported that Update 12.13 will come one week later than the standard two-week break.
