Exclusive content in Wild Rift makes no sense? LoL players say that it is enough to “move the models”
Why are there skins in Wild Rift, but not in LoL? It turns out that simply transferring the models is not enough.
Players noticed that the mobile version of the game boasts not only skins taken from League of Legends but also several exclusives. Many people do not understand why they are not available in the computer version of the game.
The topic became so loud that an employee of Wild Rift decided to comment on it. It turns out that it is not that easy and designing them takes much more time.
Skins in WR and LoL
Although Wild Rift and League of Legends are two similar productions that are practically the same, they differ in many aspects. For this reason, it is impossible to introduce the same content into two titles. Despite the fact that the players say otherwise.
This popular statement was noticed by Riot EarthSlug, who is dealing with the mobile version of League of Legends. He expanded on the topic and explained that they do not use ready-made resources, and can only transfer small items, such as:
- Concept graphics,
- Splash art,
- Audio.
However, they have to create from scratch:
- In-Game Models / Textures,
- Turntable Models / Textures,
- All VFX,
- All animations.
Additionally, he expanded his statement on Twitter. Again, it turns out it’s not that easy at all, and one skin series may make sense in Wild Rift, but it won’t sell as well in League of Legends on PC. It all depends on the preferences of PC and mobile gamers.
Fans could also find out that designing a single skin in WR takes twice as long as it takes to introduce it to League of Legends. Red stressed many times that everything depends on the community.
For this reason, over time, the content will vary more and more, and Wild Rift will receive skins that will not appear in LoL. Of course, the creators will still release a lot of similar content, such as heroes or a series of skins.
