Epic decided to completely disable the free backpack. Players can no longer use it, at least for the moment.
Disabling any cosmetic item is the last resort for Epic. Now the backpack that players could get for absolutely free has been disabled. In the cabinet, you can see a characteristic padlock on this one backpack.
This is nothing new. Epic does this when an item either destroys the gameplay or causes technical problems. How was it this time?
What was wrong with the backpack?
Officially, Epic did not write it, but the players solved the puzzle themselves. Recently, everyone has had crashes at times, especially on consoles. It turns out that this backpack was the reason. You didn’t even have to wear it.
The bugfix will probably appear in the next update, marked as 21.20, while for it you will have to wait another week. No compensation is to be expected. Epic is not in the habit of giving anything for these kinds of problems, especially since we’re talking about a free item here.
