What changed in Fortnite today? The new 25.11 update introduces several new features

Epic has released a description of today’s update, which, according to its nomenclature, is not some incredibly big one.

This update should be seen as a content update. Anyway, that’s how it’s also described. The main course is supposed to be the introduction of a rifle. Epic doesn’t mention it, but it is possible to return one of the skins without losing a token:

Description of the 25.11 update in Fortnite

Live now, the Explosive Repeater Rifle fires rounds that trigger a small explosion on impact. Because of this explosive effect, you don’t have to directly hit your target to deal some damage. Suspect an enemy’s in a bush? After enough attempts at your target, the bush itself can be destroyed by the explosive damage, leaving your opponent out in the open!

To accommodate the entry of the Explosive Repeater Rifle, the Heavy Sniper Rifle has been vaulted. You can find the Explosive Repeater Rifle from the ground, regular and Rare Chests, Holo-Chests, and for sale for Bars from Nia.

New extensions have also been added:

v25.11 introduces two new Reality Augments fitting for the heavy ammo-using Explosiver Repeater Rifle:

HEAVY HEADSHOTS

Fortnite Heavy Headshots Reality Augment

Your weapons using heavy ammo will have increased headshot damage.

HEAVY AMMO ACQUIRED

Fortnite Heavy Ammo Acquired Reality Augment

Instantly gain heavy ammo, then gain more when you open containers.

COMPETITIVE NOTES

  • Wildguard Relik, Wildguard Relik’s Cloak Gauntlets, and Relik’s MK-Alpha Assault Rifle from v25.10 are now included in tournaments.

MAJOR BUG FIXES

  • Fixed an issue preventing Victory Crowns from appearing in players’ inventories (which also prevented Victory Crowns from being dropped from players’ inventories).

And that’s basically it, as far as strictly news in the description is concerned.
