Riot further experiments with private profile in League of Legends? What have players observed?

What’s next for the ability to hide your profile in League of Legends?
Due to the fact that League of Legends has a huge community, it is difficult for Riot to make a change that no one would notice. The developers experimented with a private profile in LoL almost a year ago. On test servers, there was an option in the settings that allowed you to hide your profile (Riot will allow you to set your League of Legends profile to private mode. What will be possible to hide from others?).
Although the feature appeared for a while on PBE, it did not live to see its debut on servers like EUNE. Because of this, quite a few players simply forgot about it, and the community felt that Riot was unlikely to do anything more toward adding it to League of Legends. However, fans have noticed that the option in question has appeared, and on live servers.
Private profile in LoL
A user with the nickname Crnogoraac noticed that a feature had appeared on live servers that had long been removed even from test servers. Players were once again able to set their profile to private mode.
In client, click on Settings, and in General there is option above Low Spec Mode to “Make my profile private”. After enabling it, anyone who tries to open your profile will be welcomed with message “Private summoner: *username* has set their profile to private.”
However, the feature has been disabled again, and all profiles that have changed their privacy settings can be viewed again. Commenters who had a chance to test it write that the statistics continued to be available on third-party sites such as op.gg, for example. Because of this, the private profile was considered useless.
However, the mere appearance of the option may herald that Riot is planning to introduce it in the upcoming preseason, which was announced a few days ago. There is a good chance that with the eventual introduction of the feature, Riot will also hide the API of a player who has decided to hide his profile from other players.
At this point, however, there is no official information from the developers. Players have repeatedly requested that Riot allow them to hide their profile or introduce a mode in which their friends would not see when they are in the game. At this point, some have used third-party apps for this, such as Deceive (Riot has given up on introducing this highly anticipated feature to LoL. Players are still forced to use additional software).
