Epic decided to disable one of the pickaxes. You probably won’t be able to use it until the next update.
Disabling items is an absolute last resort in Fortnite. Epic does it when a given thing directly affects the fairness of the game. This was also the case this time, the use of the pickaxe gave an advantage over the opponents.
Playing it, your opponents couldn’t hear your footsteps. Epic, knowing this, decided to turn it off. Everyone who has it in their lockers will see a special sign on it that it cannot be used.
Epic disables one of the pickaxes
This is not too much of a surprise as the case with that pickaxe was getting more and more popular. The decision to disable it was therefore a matter of time.
The lack of steps gave a big advantage and that’s why everyone was playing with this pickaxe. And it’s over now. It is not known when it will be enabled, but potentially not until update 21.10.
Now it remains only to wait. As a reminder, patch 21.10 will potentially only appear in a week’s time.
