What is known about the new mode in LoL 2v2v2v2? What will it focus on and what game will it be similar to?

More information has emerged about the latest game mode in League of Legends.

Some time ago, Riot announced that it was working on a new project, which will be a 2v2v2v2 mode. From the early announcements alone, it was clear that this would be something innovative that had not yet been seen in League of Legends. Usually, the gameplay focused on competition between two teams of five or three players (in the case of Twisted Treeline, which was removed a few years ago).

This time the developers want to introduce something completely different and surprise their community. Rioters have mentioned the upcoming mode more than once, but have not revealed too many details. How much is known about it? What can the upcoming game mode be compared to? What rules will it have?

New 2v2v2v2 mode

New information about the aforementioned 2v2v2v2 mode has appeared online. The developers wrote out some of the most important goals they wanted to achieve during the development of this project.

Last week we shared a few updates on the upcoming new 2v2v2v2 game mode that will be arriving sooner than expected.

Here’s a rundown of our goals for this mode:

  • Quicker champ vs champ combat
  • Pushing champ customization beyond the limits
  • Lessen time spent idling

Graphics have been published with some interesting information about the upcoming mode. We can read from them that the rounds will be deathmatch style, and the strength of the heroes will increase as the game progresses, including through items, and levels, as well as gaining special powers.

Champion upgrades will not only be able to make melee characters become ranged but will also allow borrowing skills from other heroes and much more.

There have also been hints online that the new mode in League of Legends will resemble something from another popular title. Specifically, it’s about PUBG Labs: Arena Mode.
