Riot unexpectedly asked players what character they would like to remove from LoL. Here are their answers
Which champion would League of Legends players love to remove?
There are currently nearly 160 characters in LoL, and each of them is unique in its own way. The creators try to add newer and newer mechanics so that each hero brings something fresh to the game.
Lots of champions and a variety of mechanics, classes, and playstyles mean that there will be some really annoying units in the character pool from time to time. Sometimes it’s about high damage, other times the problem is mobility or annoying CC. Virtually every player at least once got angry with a hero or banned specific characters because they simply don’t like playing against them.
Riot knows that it’s impossible to please everyone. Popular skill sets often run the risk of being hated. A great example is Yone and Yasuo brothers – a huge crowd of fans, as well as a large group of opponents who would most likely remove them from the game.
Who else would have been kicked out of LoL if it had been possible?
Hated champions from League of Legends
An interesting question appeared on official LoL accounts – the creators asked the community who players would like to remove from the game if they could only do that to one character. The answers are really diverse.
Aside from quite obvious choices like Yone, Yasuo, and Yuumi, the players included:
Shaco. No connection to the rest of the lore. Hopelessly balanced. He seriously needs a VGU, but they don’t give it to him because their work schedule on rework is very limited.
My instincts tell me I should choose Nidalee. But my brain says it’s just a trauma from previous seasons and now she can’t hurt me anymore… but it’s still Nidalee.
Another player wrote:
Tryndamere. His skill set is just frustrating and obnoxious as it mostly focuses on split push. In addition, his gameplay forgives many mistakes, the player has virtually no consequences if he does something wrong.
There were also Viego, Seraphine, and many other newer heroes.
Of course Viego! And then Seraphine, Samira, Gwen, and most of the champions who came out after Ornn’s premiere. Well, except maybe Aphelios, he’s great.
Lux, Vayne, Blitzcrank, and Teemo also appeared among the answers very often. However, it cannot be denied that the most hatred fell on Yasuo or Yummi. The aversion to the magical cat is so great that criticism of Seraphine is nothing in comparison. As a reminder, Seraph received the title of the champion who got the most dislikes under the presentation on YouTube.
Finally, a little bonus:
Although it is known that Riot will not remove any champions, some players hope that over time, at least a few hated champions will see some modifications. Rework could help a lot with characters like Shaco and Tryndamere.
