Riot announces more Olaf and Taliyah style updates. What should we expect?
The creators admit that the next characters will receive a refresh, such as the one that was given to Olaf.
There are a lot of different heroes in League of Legends these days. Some of them were released over 12 years ago. The game had changed a lot during this time, so the skills were going to get old as well.
From time to time, Riot releases full champion updates called VGU. An example is the rework of Fiddlesticks, Volibear, or Mundo. However, it is not always necessary to completely rebuild the hero. Sometimes it is enough to modify skills or slightly modify the way they work.
Recently, the creators have announced several such smaller modifications. They were given to, among others, Swain or Taliyah. Riot aimed to refresh their skills and make these characters more popular in the community.
It turns out that there will be many more of this type of mini-work. What exactly did the creators of League of Legends say?
More champion updates in LoL
It’s been a while since Taliyah, Olaf, and Swain were refreshed. Some players think that the modifications turned out really well, and others say that they are even exaggerated, and the characters have become OP (see: Olaf’s changes turned out to be so good that Riot has to weaken the hero after several dozen hours).
In one of his recent posts, August “August” Browning informed the community that there will be many more smaller reworks, just like Olaf and Taliyah.
Now that Olaf, Taliyah, and Swain are out, we’re spinning up Midscope updates for a few more champions! Still too early to talk about who we’re working on. Will have more to share in future as we find improvements we’re confident in!
Another Rioter – Riot Phlox – added:
More midscopes! More fun! Excited to get to share more when we can
Some players are already guessing which champion will be refreshed. Information on what exactly Riot is planning will probably appear soon.
