LoL patch 13.1 changes. Jax fixes, announced item changes, and new skins

All that’s known about the first update of LoL’s upcoming 13th season.


Although the 13.1 update is still some time away, the developers have already lifted the shroud of the patch’s secrecy (LoL patch 13.1. Riot reveals its plans for the first update in 2023). The developers said what items would receive patches and more or less described what might change in them. Now more details about the changes are known.

The most significant of these will be an update to Jax, who will now receive a much more interesting ultimate ability, new ability icons, and some of his SFX and VFX effects will be revamped. What is known at this point about the upcoming patch 13.1?

Changes in patch 13.1

Jax

Players have already become familiar with Jax’s refreshed icons, and on top of that, they have already had a chance to take a look at the hero’s new abilities via test servers.

  • Relentless Assault (P)
    • No changes
  • Leap Strike (Q)
    • AP converter removed
  • Empower (W)
    • No changes
  • Counter Strike (E)
    • Damage changed from 55-155 (+50% bonus AD) physical damage to 55-175 + 4% maximum health (+100% AP) magic damage.
    • Bonus damage for dodged attack changed from 20% of total damage to 20% of base damage
  • Grandmaster’s Might (R)
    • Enhanced attack damage reduced from 100/140 /180 (+70% AP) to 100-150 (+60% AP)
    • New VFX and SFX effects added when the passive attack is ready
    • New active ability (with new animation and VFX)
      • Jax waves a lantern around him, dealing 150-350 (+100% AP) magic damage to nearby enemies. If he hits a champion, he gains 10-40 (+0.1 AD bonus) armor and magic resistance, plus 14-22 (+0.1 AD bonus) for each champion hit for the next 8 seconds. During this time, additional passive damage is applied every second attack instead of every third attack.

    • Mana turned into healing increased from 20% to 25%

    • Damage changed to mana decreased from 8% to 7%

    • Maximum healing per cast increased from 15 to 20
  • Rod of Ages
    • Damage changed into mana decreased from 8% to 7%
    • Mana changed into healing increased from 20% to 25%
    • Maximum healing per cast increased from 15 to 20
    • Bonus movement speed increased from 25% to 35%
    • Movement speed duration increased from 2 to 3 seconds
    • Movement speed limit changed from 250 to 200

Skins

In the discussed update, new skins from the Mythmaker and Lunar Empress series will also come to the game. Among the new cosmetic items is the legendary Irelia skin, whose presentation was not without controversy. According to fans, it is far too poor for the price that has been attached to it.
