A mechanic in LoL that was disabled more than 10 years ago, but has not yet been removed. Will it come back?

League of Legends

A mechanic that only players from the first seasons know but still exists in LoL.

In League of Legends, there were a variety of different mechanics from the beginning of the game that were eventually removed or disabled. One of them is the “dodge” slightly different from that known now.

It turns out, however, that despite the fact that it hasn’t been in the game for over 10 years, it’s still on. One of the employees revealed this curiosity. He says he still sees this stat on his console, which means it hasn’t been completely removed.

“Dodge” has been disabled, not removed

Currently, Jax’s “E” allows to dodge enemy attacks for 2 seconds, reducing skill damage, and then stunning all nearby enemies. Back in the day, Counterattack applied this effect every time a champion dodged an auto-attack, which meant he had much more CC potential. Sivir and owners of Tabi Ninja footwear could also dodge attacks.

Ultimately, the statistic was removed in version 1.0.0.132 in 2012. Now it hasn’t played any role in the game for over 10 years, but it turns out that it still exists. This was reported by Riot GalaxySmash, who still has it available in his console. This does not mean that Riot Games is planning to introduce it.

After these words, the community began to joke that it looked like a potential new content update in June. Some have gone the other way and say that Riot is simply afraid or unable to remove it because League of Legends’ complicated and tangled code will lead to more bugs.

But how is it different from the current dodge of Jax or Shen? These are skills that do not affect the statistics. The old dodge, on the other hand, was a stat similar to today’s magic resistance, AD, or AP. At the moment, every hero has it set to 0.
