A popular streamer fell victim to hackers impersonating Tesla
Hackers took over the accounts of a popular streamer. They were broadcasting impersonating Elon Musk.
Influencers with huge ranges have become easy and profitable targets for hacker attacks. This is usually done via infected programs or even browser plug-ins.
This time, the victim was a foreign YouTuber and a streamer with the nickname Fedmyster. On his Twitch, there were live broadcasts with “Elon Musk”, who seemingly discussed cryptocurrencies. Eventually, he was banned.
The accounts of a popular streamer hacked
Scammers evolve with the internet and unfortunately improve their methods of deceiving people. One of them, which unfortunately has a high chance of reaching a large number of people, is taking control of the account of a person with a large fan base. Additionally, if you add videos from a professional-looking conference with the participation of the world-famous Elon Musk, there may be many victims of fraud.
- ALSO – She was wearing too few clothes. It ended with a permaban of the TOP 13 Twitch streamer in the world
This is exactly what happened with the online creator Fedmyster. He has over 400,000 subscribers on his YouTube, and 500,000 people follow him on Twitch. Unfortunately, both accounts were stolen and on both of them, the transmissions of Tesla conferences with Elon Musk on cryptocurrencies were shown. At the same time, a scammer’s site was promoted, which is better not to enter under any circumstances.
Streamer fans quickly launched an investigation on Reddit and noted that someone from Russia was probably behind the attack. This may be suggested by a message sent by the moderator responsible for advertising the page. Of course, the administrative rights to this account were given by the scammer.
The mysterious message in Russian, when translated, literally translates to the obscene phrase “go f*ck yourselves”. It is not known whether it was sent accidentally, or whether the annoyed scammer began to insult viewers.
