Valve debunks popular myth about Counter Strike 2 beta: No, it does absolutely nothing

There are some very popular myths on the web about how to increase your chances of getting into the beta.

As is well known, only a very small percentage of all CS: GO players eventually got into the Counter-Strike 2 beta, and one of the main things Valve took into account when selecting testers was game time.

And so people came up with the idea of artificially extending the amount of time they spend in CS: GO. This became so popular that Valve had to step in to clarify the situation.

It would do nothing

As it turns out, afking in CS: GO servers doesn’t matter at all when it comes to the chance of getting a CS2 beta.

Some, of course, do not believe Valve’s assurances and take it as a disincentive to go AFK. Others understood and stopped doing it.
