Russians will disappear from CSGO completely? Russia wants to cut itself off from the global Internet

It looks like players’ “dreams” will come true. Russians may disappear from CS: GO overnight.
Valve does not have servers in Russia, and according to information that appears on the web, Russia plans to cut off from the global Internet and stay “on its own”. This will have effects, inter alia, in games like CS: GO.
Of course, games are not the most important thing, nobody thinks about it when making decisions about Internet accessibility. However, players will actually feel the difference.
The end of Russian CS: GO players?
The whole world is watching the situation of the war between Russia and Ukraine. The CS:GO players are no different. After the news came out that Russians had been cut off from the global Internet, there were suspicions that this could mean two things:
- A complete blockade of Russian CS: GO players.
- Restriction of Russian players to their servers only.
According to available information, Valve does not have servers in Russia.
According to unofficial information, Russia is to start implementing its cut-off plan on March 11. It is on this day that all Russian operators will allegedly switch to Russian DNS servers – this is the result of a document prepared by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media. The very content of the document is in Russian.
Russia is ready for this type of situation, because it was tested in 2019, when the country was cut off for 30 days.
