It hasn’t been that good in CSGO since April 2020. It took a while, but Valve’s game is back in shape

From April 2020, CS: GO’s player base continued to decline. Only now is that starting to change.


The last several months for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive have not been the best. The game’s player base was rather shrinking, and in some months it just stood still. Interestingly, even the introduction of Operation Riptide, which by definition should slightly increase the number of users of the title, did not help.

As you can see in the statistics below from steam charts, Counter-Strike has not recorded a double-digit percent increase in the number of players for many months. Now, however, this has changed, and for the first time in a long time, this figure is just over 10%. This is a really great result and perhaps the beginning of CS’s return to the top.

In the last two years, a lot of new games have appeared on the market, and above all they were FPS, which could have taken some part of CS’s players. The biggest threat to Valve’s FPS seems to be Valorant, although in reality Gabe Newell and the company have played a part in their own losses.

CS: GO developers do not listen to their community and do not patch bugs that are reported by players that sometimes grossly affect the gameplay.
