Every few days, new information about Source 2 in CS:GO appears online. There’s so much of it coming out that it’s hard to keep up with it.
Source 2 in CS:GO has been talked about not even for months, but for a good few years. It is already known that Valve is testing various solutions and probably a new engine. Every now and then more evidence of this appears.
The problem is that it has been going on for a mass of time. One by one, Valve hides everything and masks its movements. Leakers or insiders are getting to the unofficial information anyway, and the environment around Source 2 is slowly changing from excitement to irritation.
CS:GO and Source 2
It’s unclear when the new engine will appear in CS:GO, but no one has much doubt anymore that it will happen at some point.
So far it looks like a cat-and-mouse game, where Valve is testing a new engine – people figure it out, and the developers then try to hide it. And that’s the way it’s been going for several months. At the same time, it’s completely unclear when things will actually happen.
