Activities that are pointless in The Sims 4, but many people cannot think of playing without them

What activities do The Sims 4 players have to do in their gameplay, even though they are totally pointless?

In The Sims 4, although it is the best production in its category of life simulation and in many ways really resembles real life, many activities that are normal in real life seem to be meaningless in the game.

Many The Sims 4 players have found out about it, and while they know that what they tell their Sims to do is rather pointless, they still can’t imagine playing without it. What are these activities?

Pointless activities that are more important to players

On Reddit, there are very often many different types of topics that bring together The Sims community. This time, one of the users decided to ask other players what are the activities that are pointless in the game but everyone simply has a need to perform them. He also gave one very interesting example.

I have to put socks on all my sims, even if you can’t see it in the outfit. I get so annoyed if a sims isn’t, and they have to be the white socks and not the dingy white socks that come in like 5 swatches.

The most liked comment, which gained over 4,000 pluses under the author’s entry, talks about hairstyles for every type of outfit.

Hair for different outfits needs to the same length

Many people, as can be seen in the number of pluses, agreed that this is a very important element. Some people draw their attention to the hairstyle type of their sim so much that they cannot imagine it with too short or too long hair. Others also laughed that although this is just a game and Sims do not pay attention to their hairstyle, players still feel compelled to do so.

Others in the comments chose to say something about their Sims’ outfits.

At least one of the everyday outfits being something comfy bc c’mon we all have those days

Someone else also added:

This. I have a “comfy home” everyday outfit and a “out in public” everyday outfit. And they are usually barefoot in their comfy home outfit.

Even though many people had not even thought about it before, as the vast majority of players only dress their Sims in one outfit, the community agreed with these comments enough that they were the second most liked on the post. After all, in real life, a home outfit is a natural thing, so why can’t Sims have one as well?
The players also noted other important aspects.

When my sims gets married I update the wardrobe to include a wedding ring in every outfit for them both

This reminded many that in The Sims 2, the game would automatically update this garment after getting married, so players didn’t have to remember this every time. Many people agreed that this is missing in the newest part of the game, but not necessarily everyone pays so much attention to it.

Some pointed out that during the Legacy Challenge, some people just don’t want to do it because it’s too tiring, especially if they have to do it every time. For others, however, this element is still of great importance.

Players have noticed that, just like in real life, no one should sleep with makeup on, nor should Sims.

No makeup in sleepwear! It’s bad for their skin!

Brushing your teeth is as important as washing your makeup off to sleep.

I always make my Sims brush their teeth before school or work!

Some also focused on the in-game lighting system, which can be annoying to many.

I turn auto lights on. Not even for the bills, just because I hate the lights being on if nobody is in the room.

The players also wrote in large numbers about a fence in their garden to ensure safety.

I always build a fence, mostly high enough that no one could trespass. I know that sims can’t step over an ankle-high fence, but it’s very important for my sims’ safety

The same applies to stairs, which must always have a handrail so that Sims do not accidentally fall (even though they cannot physically do so in the game).

You can see that The Sims 4 players are very involved in their gameplay, and all of the above examples only prove this statement. Some cases may seem really exaggerated and pointless, but for many players these things can still make a huge difference.
