Despite the dev’s curious concept, the new mob is relatively quiet, and using his abilities isn’t something most fans think about. Many of them are simply not interested in him. For this reason, every practical use of Allay is received with a lot of curiosity among the community. What idea did one of the players come up with?
How can Allay help?
Allay’s ability allows the mob to bring the player more items identical to the one given to him by him. The creature will give any items he finds lying on the ground, such as an apple, when the player gives him one as an example.
In theory, a creature with many possibilities in practice turned out to be practically useless, because Allay is not able to pick up an item by himself that has not been previously thrown by the player or dropped by a mob.
The user with Nick jon102199, however, found new usability of the creature in question. The villagers who work on the farmland, after harvesting and planting more crops, throw the food they have collected on the ground. Allay can pick up items and drop them in the vicinity of a player with Hoppers under his feet, immediately hiding everything in the box.
Although an almost identical effect can be achieved by placing a track with a crate under the cultivation fields, the solution shown in the above video requires much less time and resources to build. After watching the clip, it may seem that the player needs to stay in place for the resources to go to the crate, however, it’s worth remembering about Note Blocks, which will also act as Allaya’s landmark.
