Would League of Legends be a better game without a teleport? The players came to interesting conclusions

League of Legends

LoL players are considering removing the teleport. Would League be better without it?

There are several Summoner Spells in League of Legends. However, most of them are only used depending on the situation, which basically means that they are used very rarely. There are also some that are seen in every game.

One of them is definitely flash, but that’s not what we’re talking about here. The community is focusing on teleportation. The spell is supposed to be too strong and boring, especially in the professional scene.

League without teleporting

Since 2009, LoL has really changed a lot. Players get new heroes, runes, items, dragon changes, monster camps, maps, alleys and much more. However, there is something that hardly changes, and we’re talking about Summoner Spells here. These are only updated and sometimes slightly reworked, but the creators do not add any news in this segment.

And, as fans say, they could definitely use some changes. For example, the classic and well-known teleport. Currently, it is simply an OP and bores viewers watching the professional scene.

Players from lower divisions cannot use this summoner, but in high elo and in the hands of professionals, it becomes a powerful weapon to win matches.

Here, as an example, you can give the top lane where it is chosen most often. Usually, a bronze, silver, or gold player will move back and teleport, losing a few minions or an opportunity for a team fight next to the dragon. On the other hand, those who know the game will do it in such a way that they will not lose gold, experience, and opportunities to defeat opponents at the other end of the map. This means that the spell is very strong, but its power only manifests itself while being used by experienced players.

Riot tries to experiment and has changed it several times, even this season. However, it still did not give the expected results and every week many players are asking for its removal.

An additional argument may be increasing the priority of characters with a global ult. With the teleport option gone, Shen, Twisted Fate and Pantheon would be back in favor of players. While playing them, their users would also have to consider priorities and whether is it better to jump across the map to save allies, or maybe take 10 minions under the tower and get guaranteed gold and experience.

Will Riot decide to withdraw this summoner, known for over 10 seasons, from the game? There is little chance of that, at least this season. Perhaps developers will take such steps in the preseason of 2023, but at the moment these are only speculations and still growing pressure from the community.
