Why has there been a lot of talk recently about Katarina’s update?
Katarina is one of the more distinctive heroines from League of Legends. She was released on September 19, 2009, so it’s been almost 14 years. During this time she has lived to see hundreds of fan art, cosplays and fan skins. Her design and character have been loved by thousands, and Riot itself has repeatedly shown that it really likes the character, as she has appeared in various projects and was even supposed to receive her own animated movie (the cinematic was ultimately not released).
Recently, Riot published a new comic book with Katarina as the main character. You can read the character’s story here.
This made the community wonder whether the developers should consider releasing an ASU that would refresh both the model and the graphics of a favorite of many players.

Katarina is a character that, as mentioned above, is quite popular. She has a lot of cosmetic additions and recently received a skin along with a prestige edition (Faerie Court).
Since her release, the heroine has seen a lot of changes in gameplay and refreshed graphics, which no longer resemble the first caricature splash art. However, this does not change the fact that her current portraits differ from the graphics that depict the latest champions.
According to fans, it’s high time to change something here. Since Riot is releasing a comic book about the heroine’s fate, it would be a good idea to refresh her lore, and thus also make new splash art and in-game model.
Fans of Katarina believe that this one needs at least a graphical update – ASU, or a revamp on the level of the one Ahri received not so long ago.

After Kat comics I wish a few things for her overall until when she gets her ASU.
– New splash since this one with her mid teleport doesn’t make sense anymore.
– New VO with her comics personality, and not angry all the time, she really needs that.
– A VFX update for old skins.
I was never much of a fan of the splash and her getting a new one showing a little more personality from her comics and a powerful pose would be awesome. For her VO also needs more lines and where she is not angry ALL THE TIME and more sass like she is in the comics.
