Why Nami VFX changes may not appeal to mains of this LoL character? The heroine’s indirect nerfs

League of Legends

Gamers believe that Namis’s VFX update weakens the heroine. Why?

For some time now, League of Legends has regularly received VFX updates, which slightly refresh the visual and audio effects of the older part of the heroes. These types of amendments are usually warmly welcomed, especially by the part of the community that is interested in the character being changed, but in the past, there have been situations in which the champion was indirectly weakened in this way.

The loudest case is the one related to Caitlyn, who lost the ability to cancel her basic attack animation during the VFX update. Although Nami’s update, which can be closely analyzed in another article (Nami’s VFX update is coming to League of Legends. How does the refreshed version of the heroine look like?), will not remove any of the mechanics, players believe that changing the visual effect of one of the skills will significantly affect the effectiveness of the heroine. Why?

What’s wrong with the updated Nami?

The Nami update, which was announced on May 10, brings many changes to the effects of all of the heroine’s spells. The most notable change is her ultimate – Tidal Wave. Its animation is now in a much darker shade of blue. In addition, her W – Ebb and Flow – colors are more vivid and her skill is more suited to the new VFX.

While Nami’s fans are pleased with the fact that their character receives some love from the creators of League of Legends, they fear that the heroine may lose from the changes mainly due to the new Q’s animation.

The place where Nami aims is now much more visible, and enemies will have a much easier task when they want to avoid abilities.

There have been many comments on the web about the character’s Q being changed.

I like the changes (could be better, that’s true), but I think Nami’s main players will hate it, since her Q is much more visible than before.

This is kind of an indirect nerf to her. I like how the old indication of where the bubble will land isn’t as easy to see. It makes her hard to hit skillshot catch people off guard. Now it’s a huge warning sign and it’ll make her bubble even harder to hit.

Perhaps Riot will notice the numerous fan comments and will somehow answer them. Nami’s changes are expected to hit live servers in update 12.10, which will be released on May 25. So designers still have some time to fine-tune the VFX changes.
