Since Riot introduced the ability to acquire content from the Hextech Workshop, many players have been given the chance to get interesting cosmetic additions without spending any money. You get the chests for playing well with a hero (rated S- or higher) that you have on your account (or if someone from the premade plays this way). To open them, just use the key – its fragments are also free and appear on the players’ accounts from time to time (the frequency of appearing depends on the honor level).
Regular Hextech chests do not guarantee that they will drop a skin that interests the player because you can also get a hero shard, an emote, or just essence. But that doesn’t mean they don’t offer anything interesting – there’s still a chance you’ll get a legendary or even a Super Skin.

Lucky Hextech Chests
A player named JaceOrwell posted a video on Reddit in which he stated that he most likely used all his luck to open the content in the Workshop. From the title of the post, it’s hard to deduce what exactly happened, but one thing can be sure – the player got at least a few skins that were interesting for him.
The beginning of the opening seems inconspicuous – a shard of Lillia, Rumble, and a skin for Kindred. Some of the next skins are rather older items, some even quite cheap. At one point, the player stops opening because he notices he got DJ Sona.
Unfortunately, it is not known if the above-mentioned skin interested the author of the recording, but from the pause, it can be said that he was greatly surprised. It was quite possible that at that moment he thought that nothing better would happen. And he was wrong.
Emotes and shards of heroes flew from the next crates, including Lissandra, Kled, and Kayn. The player clicked through the boxes until he stopped again because he got another ultimate skin – this time Gun Goddess Miss Fortune.

Many players dream of getting a super skin from a free crate, but few think that they could get as much as two in less than a minute. It must be admitted that the author of the above video was really lucky.
