A group of artists has created an incredibly extensive skin concept for League of Legends. It makes a great impression.
The fact that LoL fans are ambitious and have great ideas has been known for a long time. However, not always what players create is incredibly complex and could be a standalone project.
Concepts for skins or heroes often require a group of people to be responsible for different parts of the project, such as animations, 3D model, character voice lines, and so on. You can easily guess that working on something like this is not easy and takes many weeks.
Nevertheless, a group of fans decided to create their own League of Legends skin. They’ve chosen the Spirit Blossom series, which is undoubtedly incredibly distinctive and, according to many, is one of the better themes in the entire game.
The creators of the project decided that their skin will be really extensive – from splash art and concept art, to the design of in-game skills, full dubbing and a refined 3D model. What does it look like?
The idea for the skin – Spirit Blossom Draven
Many talented artists have worked on the Draven Spirit Blossom skin concept:
- the original idea was created by duxteh2,
- TriSoundworks worked on SFX and VO SFX in the game,
- Draven is voiced by Matt Barr,
- BeardedShepher1 worked on the 3D project,
- RoyalEnigmatic and Owlieart were responsible for the plot and direction of the project.
As you can see, creating a full fan skin requires commitment from many people. Was it worth it? The effects are really amazing – all graphics and dubbing are of a high standard and can be easily mistaken for an official skin from Riot.
The creators focused on the smallest details and refined everything as best they could. It is also worth noting that in addition to designing the 3D model and all skill animations, a chroma set was also made, which was also presented during the skin presentation.

Admittedly, the project looks really good and its creators have done a solid job. People are amazed that a group of independent designers wanted to spend so much time on a custom League of Legends skin. Many players regret that such a skin did not officially appear in the game, because probably many Draven fans would buy it on the day of the premiere.
