Riot prepares anonymous lobby in LoL and announces its rapid entry into the game

Nickless lobbies will soon appear on official servers.

Anonymity is something important, and developers of other online games like Fortnite know this very well. In addition, the ability to hide your nickname also appeared in Valorant from Riot, practically at the start of the game.

Now it will also appear in League of Legends. The rapid introduction of this update was announced by one of the Rioters. How will it work and what about stat tracking programs?

Anonymous lobby in LoL

Riot Games wants to introduce a small novelty to League of Legends that will make players stop leaving the waiting room so often. We are talking about the already mentioned anonymous entrance to the lobby. Allies and opponents will no longer see a nickname of the player choosing to remain in the shadows. Not even stat-tracking programs like Blitz or Porofesor will catch it.

Now the feature is available on the test server in all queues on Summoner’s Rift. However, when it officially hits the game, only solo or duo-ranked devotees will be able to use it. On flexes and normals, it will not be possible. This is according to Riot employee Chris Roberts.

This option will not appear in the upcoming patch 12.22. However, Chris reports that it is a big priority and will soon be in the game. Perhaps Riot this time will not decide to postpone the add-on, evoking particular joy among those who scored a “lose strike.”
