Riot is changing Blitzcrank’s pronouns in League of Legends. From now on, they will not be he/him

It has been reported that the lore of Blitzcrank has been changed. It’s not about new events, but about changing pronouns. What are they now?
There are more than 160 different characters in League of Legends. These differ from each other in appearance, skills, background, gender, or even orientation. The developers are trying to make as many unique and colorful characters as possible, who will have an expanded personalities in many respects.
For a while, it was safe to say that the vast majority of champions were easy to identify in terms of gender. Perhaps the exception was Rek’Sai, who was mistaken by some for a male monster. However, there was no situation where a champion was openly non-binary or it was not stated anywhere whether they were female or male.
Recent years have brought a lot of diversity to League of Legends – there have been characters who belong to sexual minorities – a good example is the newest champion, K’Sante. There is also Neeko, but also a refreshed relationship between Diana and Leona or Graves and Twisted Fate.
Some people wondered when a transgender or non-binary character would enter the game. True, no such champion has been announced, but the pronouns of one who has been in the League for many years have been changed. The character in question is Blitzcrank.
Blitzcrank’s new pronouns
Blitzcrank appeared on Summoner’s Rift on September 2, 2009. Rather, no one doubts that he is not a human, but a machine. These, by definition, have no gender, but until now the character has spoken in the male form.
This year, Riot decided to change that and modified the champion’s lore so that his pronouns changed from He/Him to They/Them.
All those who do not like this type of change or are not interested in the storyline need not worry, because the descriptions of the champion will not be changed in the game itself. This means that all statements or skill descriptions will remain the same – they will continue to talk about Blitzcrank in the masculine form.
Although he was originally referred to using He/Him pronouns, Blitzcrank’s latest lore update changed the pronouns to They/Them.
The game and skill descriptions continue to refer to the character using He/Him pronouns.
