Riot confirms once again that Arcane Season 2 is in the making. The new investment is to fasten the process

League of Legends

Riot Games announced an investment in an animation studio from Paris.

Developers of the most popular MOBA game in the world have announced a new investment in the Fortiche Production animation studio. They are known for creating not only the Arcane series but also many cinematics and music videos for songs, including K / DA.

LoL fans are wondering what will come of it and what new animations will be created thanks to this investment. Speculation applies not only to cinematics but even miniseries with characters other than those that appeared in Arcane.

Los Angelex x Paris

Riot Games, developer and publisher known for League of Legends and Fortiche Production, the animation studio responsible for producing Arcane and many of the League films, today announced a new capital investment by Riot in Fortiche.

Under the terms of the investment, which closed earlier this year, Riot now owns a significant non-controlling interest in Fortiche. Brian Wright (Chief Content Officer at Riot) and Brendan Mulligan (Chief Corporate Development Officer at Riot) also joined Fortiche’s board of directors.

The cooperation of these two companies began a long time ago. It was Fortiche who was responsible for the animation in the music video “Get Jinxed” during the premiere of this heroine in October 2013. In addition, they contributed to the creation of, inter alia, “Warriors”, “Enemy” with Imagine Dragons, Ekko’s “Seconds” announcements as well as “POP / STARS” and “RISE”.

The results of this cooperation are clear. Arcane was ranked number one on Netflix at its premiere, won 9 Annie Awards, and the show’s average rating is 9.2 / 10 on IMDb. Additionally, the song by Imagine Dragons “Enemy” was listened to over a billion times.

Pascal Charrue, Jérôme Combe and Arnaud Delord, co-founders of Fortiche, decided to comment on this topic.

Fortiche has been an integral partner for a long time, but this agreement ensures we’ll be working closely for decades to come. We hold a high bar for everyone we work with and insist they understand players deeply and focus on them relentlessly, and from day one, Fortiche has exemplified Player Experience First. In working with Fortiche, we collaborate to push the boundaries of what’s possible and raise expectations for how games can be represented in media. As proud as we are of Arcane, we know the best is yet to come.

Perhaps a surprise awaits League of Legends players in 2023. Nothing more is known at the moment, but both companies will probably not leave the tenth anniversary without any event.
