Riot announces changes in acquiring tokens for another LoL pass. The players are furious
The creators of LoL are changing the way of obtaining tokens in the pass. The game community expressed its dissatisfaction.
The Debonair Pass, which appeared at the end of 2021, introduced a new system to the game, which was based on scoring points for the time spent in the match. The system proved to be poorly profitable, so players began accusing Riot of “doing it for money” and treating their community unfairly.
The internet was flooded with screenshots showing players losing tokens as they missed a few mission points, so most of the next match was simply wasted. The mass of fans complained that this is the first time that they have not gotten even 2000 tokens in the pass, although in previous events they collected over 2500.
The next pass slightly fixed the mistakes of the previous one and LoL fans breathed a sigh of relief. Some believed that Riot understood their slip-up and everything would be better from now on. Unfortunately, this did not happen. The hated token missions are set to return.
Return of hated missions
Rioter KenAdamsNSA announced on Twitter that repeatable missions for tokens will return in the next pass. He informed that the developers improved the way of earning points (when it comes to transferring them between missions), and thus – they restore the missions of infinite tokens, but in the form of 10 tokens for 200 points.
Weekly tasks and milestones in the pass will not change.
In addition, the number of tokens earned for TFT games has been increased:
- 1st – 4th place: 6 points per minute
- 5th-8th place: 3 points per minute.
As you can guess, after a while from publishing the entry, it was in turmoil. Gamers have commented en masse that they feel cheated, and Riot is trying to get as much money from them as possible again. Many people cannot understand why the developers are restoring something that a large part of the game community did not like.

You can read many entries on Reddit in which players ironically thank the developers for “saving money” because after the changes were announced, some people said that they would definitely not buy a pass that has this system.
Thats terrible! I hope riot listens to the people complaining and stop this change. I’ve been getting passes ever since I started playing, and debonair was the only one I skipped just because it was terrible to get tokens.
It is true that it has not been long since the changes were announced, so there is a chance that Riot will comment on this matter. Unfortunately, many people think that the creators will not do anything about it and the game will have another unprofitable pass, which will cause a lot of frustration in the community. There are also those who defend the changes and believe it is too early to judge whether the revised system is a scam or not.
