Riot about increasing the damage dealt by minions. What is the position of the developers on this?

How did Riot respond to one player’s question? Will minions deal more damage?

Update 12.10 had a significant impact on the strength of virtually all characters, and the gameplay generally slowed down a bit, which was one of the developers’ goals for the patch. In addition to the changes of heroes, improvements have been made to, among others, towers and Baron Nashor, which, due to the greater durability of characters, began to deal more damage.

The key element that every LoL player has to deal with are minions. Their damage is seemingly not very high, but in the early stages of the game, they can be crucial in trades between champions. Players believe that due to the increased armor and HP, minions should deal more damage. How did Riot respond to this?

Bigger minions damage

Minions can have a significant impact on the result of the duel with the opponent, especially in the earlier stages of the game. Despite the fact that their damage is not too high, the group will have time to attack at least a few times while the champion fights an enemy, which can significantly reduce the player’s chances of getting out alive. For this reason, it’s always a good idea to have minions in mind when initiating a fight.

A user with the nickname CookieBlitz writes that the increased endurance of the heroes meant that the minions are no longer as dangerous as before.

I’m not sure if it was overlooked by Riot or an intentional decision, but giving all champions 70 base HP at level 1 makes a huge difference when it comes to tanking minions in low level trades.

Some champions like Olaf who are hard to contest in lane from level 1 are even stronger because minions matter less in low level trades.

In addition, the player mentioned the lack of Dragon and Herald buffs despite the increased Baron damage. He wondered why the changes only affected one of the three epic creatures. It didn’t take long for Rioter’s answer, which made things a bit clearer. TheTruexy, also known as Riot Tim, commented on the thread.

Summing up Rioter’s statement, it can be concluded that the creators wanted to increase the character’s endurance in relation to other heroes, not necessarily affecting the player’s fights with other objects on the map.
