The creators of LoL decided to respond to the requests of Seraphine fans who demanded a hair change in the Prestige version of the Ocean Song skin.
A few days ago there was an article about Seraphine, and more precisely her hairstyle in the Prestige version of the Ocean Song skin. The skin was recently revealed, and it turns out – it has aroused great interest among the League of Legends community.
It might seem that something like character hair is not that important, but in reality it is completely different. The subject of the heroine’s hairstyle won a record number of comments. Riot decided to answer them.

One of the players stated that the changes introduced by Riot disfigured the heroine. It was specifically her hairstyle which fans say now looks like “tentacles”.
The subject of the Seraphine model turned out to be so controversial that the Reddit thread gained a record number of comments. The creators decided to refer to it.
I want to address the recent situation with Prestige OS Seraphine as many of you seem to be dissatisfied with changes made to her hairs.
The thread gathered a record number of comments we ever seen, ever before the changes we made. By the time I gathered the sentiment, it was already 10 times bigger than average we have and most of requests about the hairs was to make them orange/darker & longer. Only few commenters mentioned that they actually like the shorter hairs.
However, after making those changes the thread doubled in size, with an opposite feedback. We were not even able to act upon before the branch was closed for 12.11 release.
As a rare exception, we decided to open this new thread for this specific case. I want to hear your opinions on following aspects of Prestige Ocean Song Seraphine hairs:
1) should we keep them longer or revert to shorter?
2) should we also revert the color, keep current one or change it to something else (staying in similar color region that is) ?
If you want to have the hairs color altered to new one, please be very precise about it. These can be very different for everyone can see on their screens. Please use color reference materials (or if you are proficient with appropriate software – even paintovers) if possible. This will increase accuracy of what we are talking about here 🙂
For now we are eager to revert hair changes to the initial state, when the skin was initially shown on PBE.
I want to make it also very clear – we are NOT going to make any other change apart from hairs.
Fans even created their own version of the hair of the Prestige Ocean Song Seraphine. This one was based on her hairstyle from the basic skin version.
Some players maliciously comment on Riot’s decision, claiming that the developers have not listened to many of the community’s requests so far. The best example is the Pentakill Yorick, who never got a headgear, even though players asked for it very much.
According to some, Riot returned to editing the Seraphine model because they noticed that the skin was controversial, and thus – it would bring a lot of profit.
Others argue that such a huge response made the developers understand that a refusal would be received much harsher than with other skins.
