Players in LoL are complaining that some skins have gotten too loud. What’s the issue?

League of Legends

The League of Legends community has complained about the sound effects of some skins in the game.

Currently, there are more than 1,300 different skins in LoL, which belong to different series. Every year the cosmetic additions are getting more and more elaborate – they have better animations, more interesting recalls, new sound effects, and nicer splash art. Riot goes to great lengths to make sure that the skins appeal to players and, consequently, sell well, as they are the main source of income.

Unfortunately, not all skins meet expectations. It happens that something is simply a bad idea, but it also happens that add-ons have all sorts of bugs or annoying visual and sound effects.

Skins effects in LoL too loud

Most players would agree that skins in a game should be pleasing to the eye, not something that annoys and distracts. Unfortunately, this is sometimes not the case in practice.

One fan raised the issue on Reddit, writing:

Some skins are unnecessarily noisy lately. With the latest skinline releases I feel like Riot is making them way too noisy, distracting from gameplay. Two good examples are Star Guardian Sona or (Prestige) Space Groove Nami.

I couldn’t play these skins for a longer while as they are really annoying to hear and I wish Riot would consider how skins sound in comparison to others, so they don’t overpower everything else.

Do you feel the same? Do you have other examples of skins you really find annoying to hear?

The comments show that the problem is not at all as small as it may seem. The community cited various examples that they believe have effects that are too loud or ones that simply annoy them.

I cannot stand Cafe Cuties Sivir Q. Way too many instances of the stupid sound.

Pool Party Miss Fortune bullet rain. That sound literally gives me sensory overload. I cannot f*cking stand it at all, it is awful.

At first i thought it was cool my friend had such a cool caitlin skin (arcade caitlin or something) but after a while of playing with him her headshot noises became annoying af.

There are, of course, many more examples. Admittedly, each person is annoyed by something different, but it is clear from the statements of players that sometimes it is better to limit additional sounds in favor of more enjoyable gameplay. While unusual effects are interesting at the beginning, with longer play they simply annoy.
