Players criticize developers for quickly unbanning Rioter after he was feeding with Ryze

The League of Legends community is outraged by Rioters’ recent behavior. It is about the revocation of the ban.

A few days ago, an article appeared about the fact that one of the well-known Rioters – Riot Phlox – was banned for feeding with Ryze. The studio employee was able to end the game with the number of deaths exceeding 15 and even 20 – so it’s not surprising that fellow players reported him for dying on purpose.

And while Rioter’s ban for feeding seemed quite funny, the revocation of the punishment caused quite a controversy. All because the ban was removed quite a bit ahead of time. The title’s community felt that this was simply unfair.

Quick ban reversal

The new update added many new features to the game, including new items that offer a lot of potential and are currently being frequently tested by players. Some were incredibly excited, as they believed that the pre-season changes would bring back somewhat disadvantaged and forgotten heroes.

One of them is Ryze, who has long boasted one of the game’s newest win ratios. More than one player joked that just picking this character is trolling, as it is a deliberate condemnation of failure.

The pre-season changes were supposed to slightly improve the state of the champion, which made some people decide to play as him again. Among them was Riot Phlox, a designer working on Summoner’s Rift. The Rioter picked Ryze many times, but it didn’t go very well. That’s even an understatement, as he ended up with stats like 7/16. Eventually, the poor performance translated into a 14-day ban, which was reversed way too early.

Phlox played about 40 games with Ryze last week, and while not all of them ended in defeat, most of the player’s statistics were really bad. This number of deaths caused many people to report Rioter.

Unfortunately, the ban, which was supposed to last 14 days, lasted much shorter. The employee was unbanned almost immediately, which caused quite an outcry from the community.

Screens of Rioter’s statement, in which he jokes that he “shouldn’t play Ryze anymore,” and examples of his statistics circled the Internet. Currently, among others on Twitter, you can find comments from players along these lines:

Riot Phlox got banned for playing like s**t, then came into work next morning, unbanned himself, proceeded to play like s**t, meanwhile everyone else was getting banned for typing poop.
