LoL’s new skins make it harder to identify characters in the game? Skins are becoming less and less legible

Players say skins in League of Legends are increasingly confusing. Characters don’t resemble themselves?
Riot recently revealed who will receive skins from the latest Empyrean series. The theme had been announced for some time. The fact that the cosmetic add-on with this name would go to Pyke was confirmed much earlier, as the character’s neon ult appeared in a video promoting the World Championship event.
Skins were added on PBE, chromas, icons, and splash art were shown. Players have had time to take a look at them, and it turns out that some people claim that the new series is heavily unreadable and unintuitive. What exactly is the issue?
Are the new skins not leageble?
One Reddit user raised the topic of new skins – not just those of the Empyrean series, but cosmetic add-ons in general, which have been coming out recently. According to the player, the characters no longer resemble themselves, and sometimes it’s really hard to guess who a particular graphic depicts. If the characters’ distinctive weapons were taken away, a lot of people wouldn’t know who they were actually looking at.
Newer skins are messing with identifying champions ingame.
Most of the newer skins are becoming more and more difficult to tell what champion they actually are. Something that should take you no less than a millisecond by simply looking at them; is now taking a few seconds.
Too much effort is being put into skins looking “cool” that it’s taking away from the fundamental visual clarity of the champion.
This overall affects competitiveness and adds another frustrating dynamic to a game that can be very hectic the later the game goes.

More interestingly, this problem is not the first time this has occurred. The fact that some skins are completely unreadable was discussed long ago. The opacity of cosmetic add-ons became notorious when Riot released Mecha Kingdoms skins. At that time, too, many fans complained that the characters looked too similar to each other.
This is unfortunately a problem with some themes, especially those in which the champion has his face covered by a mask. Unfortunately, often the only way to recognize a character is to look at his weapon – there is no point in looking at outfits, hairstyles, or accessories, as these can be misleading.
