LoL players have been asking for a tweak to Syndra’s skin model, you won’t guess what Riot did

Riot Games decided to change the splash art instead of the model. The irritation of players with this fact has increased significantly.

At the time the new Star Guardian skins hit the Test Server and players didn’t like a little detail. The idea was to match some nice splash art to an in-game model that had a few shortcomings.

Ultimately, Riot did actually fit these two character representations together, but not in the way the community wanted. Instead of making adjustments to the model, the focus was on splash art.

Star Guardian Syndra Changes

More than a week ago, new skins from the Star Guardian series hit the PBE. Among them is the Prestige Syndra, which the players did not like in the end. Although the skin itself looks good, the developers have once again neglected a few elements. Twitter user @Ulchete points out, inter alia:

  • hair,
  • choker and corset,
  • gloves,
  • hands.

Corrected version / original

In short, the whole thing was to be adapted to splash art. There aren’t a lot of tweaks there, just changes to shading and colors which is possible to do once the skin is released on the PBE.

Riot, however, decided to change the splash to match the portrait to the skin, not the other way around as players wanted.

This decision sparked a huge wave of outrage. Once again, Riot was accused of not being interested in what they released and that only the profit counts. There were even such strong comments towards employees that one of them asked the player not to address people in this way.

The Rioter replied that reworking the entire model is not possible within the cycle timeframe to PBE and sent in an article on what they can and cannot do. The players quickly realized that it was possible to change colors and that this is what it was all about. Many people also do not understand how work on a skin lasts several months and no one has even checked whether it fits with splash art during that time.

Will Riot Change its decision? There is a small chance of this, but the devs have a week before their official introduction to League of Legends. Perhaps a second time they will decide to make corrections, this time as requested by players.
