League of Legends currently hides the level of mastery of opponents? What does Riot have to say about this?

From the preseason update, will it no longer be possible to boast mastery?

The mastery level is earned by playing every champion. It is taken by many as an indicator of dedication to one’s main and shows others how much time has been spent playing one hero. Many players get points just during the process of getting higher ranks when others are fully focused on earning them in record numbers. Regardless, a sizable portion of the community simply likes to brag about the number of points they have accumulated.

However, it turns out that since the last update it is not possible to suspect how many mastery points opponents have. This annoyed both mains and many other players, who used them as an indicator of whether they should fear their opponents because of their familiarity with a particular hero. How does Riot respond to the complaints?

Have the mastery points been hidden?

One player has created a post in which he writes that he is no longer able to preview his opponent’s mastery. He believes that the change introduced by the developers is pointless and in no way affects the reduction of dodging players. The game has already started and, in his opinion, he should be able to suspect whether the enemy Rengar has 2 million points and should be feared.

There were also comments from the mains of the characters in question, such as this one by user npri0r.

Mastery is now hidden? Half the point of getting it is so I can flex almost 400k on Aurelion. Sure I can use emoticons for that, but they don’t allow me to show how much of my life I wasted playing that champion.

I assume the same applies to eternals. I have almost 400 milestones that I bought to be able to show up on the loading screen.

What’s the point if no one else can see those numbers?

Many players agreed with the post in the comments and wrote that they wished they could brag about how much time they spent playing a niche pick, such as Shaco, Neeko, or Fiddlesticks.

Rioter, whose response many players have been waiting for, also spoke out in the thread. It turns out that the lack of displayed maestry of opponents is just a bug, which the team is already looking into.

It is a bug that is already being looked into.

So the concerned part of the community can rest easy. The bug will most likely be eliminated in the upcoming update 12.23, which, according to the schedule, is expected to appear on the live servers as early as December 7.
