Hecarim scored a strong power drop in the latest LoL patch. You can see it at a glance

Hecarim is not so strong anymore after the last update.

Shadow of War is one of the heroes having leaps and bounds in his power. In the 2023 pre-season, he became one of the most powerful junglers, but unfortunately for his players, that didn’t last long.

In the recent update numbered 12.23b, he received quite a significant nerf. He is now difficult to play, and his win rate has dropped by a good few percent.

Big Hecarim nerfs

From one of the strongest junglers in the preseason to a character that is difficult to play. This happened to Hecarim after update 12.23b, which weakened his Q.

  • Percentage of extra Q damage per charge: 4% (+5% for every 100 points of extra attack damage) ⇒ 3% (+ 4% for every 100 points of extra attack damage).

As a result of the weakening of the damage by a few percent, his winrate has dropped sharply, as can be perfectly seen from the graphs on the stats gathering pages. From over 50%, it is now only around 47%.

The Horseman has had these problems for many years, and it is difficult for Riot to balance him properly. He’s usually either too strong or too weak, and players stop playing him, only to return to him when he’s strong later, after another buff. The community of his fans has high hopes for him in the 2023 season, and perhaps the developers will manage to balance him properly and fit him into the gameplay. At this point, however, it doesn’t look like it.
