Faker has made very specific comments about the problem which makes him unable to play normally.
Faker is one of the most, if not the most recognizable, LoL players. Riot definitely had to get to know that someone like this is simply tired of rankeds. On his last stream, Faker said he was heartily fed up with one type of player.
What exactly is it about? This is what every person really encounters, while on the KR server it is caused by something different than, for example, on the EUW. Faker met an Aatrox player who was acting very badly. Finally, a professional player decided to report a player and say what he thinks about the rankeds.
Faker is close to giving up on rankeds
Aatrox we are talking about:
- Never used pings.
- All the time, from the very beginning, he wrote that the game is lost and the team should surrender as soon as they have this option.
- He never listened to the team, he was doing something completely different than the rest of them.
That hadn’t quite irritated Faker yet somehow. Everyone meets such a person from time to time. The player found out that Aatrox is in fact a professional Chinese player of the TES team. Faker talked for a few good minutes about why this is a problem and it turns out that Chinese players get “super accounts” in Korea that they don’t really care about and through which they make money by intentionally losing.
Riot has reportedly already dealt with it. As you can see, it didn’t go very well, even if Riot banned a total of around 10,000 accounts.
Faker finally decided that if he meets such a person again, he will officially stop playing rankeds.
The case, of course, landed on Reddit, where the person writing the entry directly says that he has never seen Faker so irritated.
A ranked boycott is nothing new for Faker. The player plays a really small number of ranked games and now we know why.
This is a problem that European servers do not have, or at least are not heard of – there is obviously something like wintrading, but not on that scale. On the other hand, everyone comes across Aatrox like that.
