Are patron packs in LoL too expensive? Players don’t want to buy them, but they also have advantages

Patron packs in League of Legends are too expensive. That’s what players say, but the opinion about them is mixed.

Many League of Legends players have decided not to spend their money on patron packs. These were released in January 2021, and their price is still 600 RP for a pack for one hero, and 5850 for all characters.

Such costs continue to dismay the community, which wonders who actually buys these packages. However, it turns out that it is possible to make a little money from them. Admittedly, not RP, but Orange Essence.

Patrons in LoL

Probably most players remember how much controversy there was when the new add-on came out in January 2021. Players accused Riot of a cash heist and high prices for something that only collects stats and offers a few cosmetic bonuses, like upgrading level 7 mastery by two.

However, some part of the community loved looking at their stats and willingly purchased the whole package. This one can actually pay off, especially since it applies to all characters and those that will come out in the future. Then, counting 161 champions, instead of 600 RP, the player will pay only 36 RP per hero.

It turns out that the Patron system is not so useless after all. A positive example is, for example, an interesting token for pocketing Milestones. This task is especially easy if you play with many characters and can surprise your friends with a token that a really negligible percentage of players have.

However, by far the greater benefit is the free Orange Essence. As you know, Riot likes to give away Patrons whether at the end of the season or during passes. Then you can exchange them right away for the currency needed to buy skins. Over time you can accumulate a lot of it indeed.

Summing up the whole supplement after almost two years since its release, there are two conclusions. It’s cool if it’s for mains and people who like statistics. On the other hand, looking at the fact that Riot is not in a hurry to release a second series, one can conclude that they have not sold enough and rather let go of the idea for the moment.
