LoL players have found an easy way to increase gold reserves in the middle lane.
League of Legends players are famous for their ingenuity. If something can be done and the developers didn’t foresee it, the community of the world’s largest MOBA is sure to take advantage of it after a few days.
This time it happened with the reworking of the jungle. However, it does not apply to it, but to the middle lane. Thanks to the new item, midlaners are able to farm extra gold and not lose too much in the process.
Two smites in the team
In patch 12.22, a huge redesign of the jungle and items came to the League. As it happens in the preseason, not everything was thought out and tested. Because of this, players quickly came up with a way to earn extra gold. In doing so, they take advantage of the jungle item and the new gold awarding mechanics.
Tidbits collected passively, every minute, give 50 gold for each monster camp. They can be collected without limit, so in short it is an exploit, but a legal one. In addition, selling an item for the jungle at the start allows players to bypass the penalty for farming minions so that the phase on the line is not bound by any restrictions. The entire tactic was presented by Korean YouTuber “Rainbow Flavor.”
Later in the game, he bought the forest item again and already had 550 free gold in his account, in addition to the one awarded from just clearing the camps. This tactic was also used on the stream by Korean pro “Doinb”, who currently plays for LNG Esports.
The downside here is the loss of one Summoner Spell on the line. However, the extra gold and the ability to help the jungler with smite seem to be a favorable offer. This has not been patched at this point, but this will surely change by the start of the season. It’s worth testing this tactic, but better to do it on normals.
