Bloomberg confirms that in GTA 6 you will be able to play one of two characters.

These several dozen months are, of course, several years. According to the aforementioned analysts, which even Bloomberg cites, GTA 6 would come out somewhere between 2023 and 2024.
A story inspired by Bonnie and Clyde
Unofficially, Bloomberg writes that players will get a choice between two characters and their stories. The whole thing is to be inspired by Bonnie and Clyde, while the setting is said to be a fictional version of Miami.
Cool, but we’ve heard it already. The new thing about these leaks is that, in fact, for the first time since GTA 1, players will have a chance to play the story as a female character. Many people will probably be happy, but there are still no meaningful details.
The cool news is that GTA 6 is to be updated after the premiere. So there is a chance not only for online mode, but for more additions, or a model similar to Cyberpunk 2077, where updates come out every few months and change the gameplay in some way.
