You were not imagining things, Discord actually changed its colors for the dark and light modes

Discord updates its colors relatively rarely, which is why users quickly noticed some differences.

Most Discord users probably didn’t notice that around April 1, the platform changed specific interface elements, or “activity” in general. You might have missed it mainly because the light mode was the main focus here. Though dark has also changed.

Most, however, use a dark style, so hardly anyone got irritated. And yet there were also such people. Users of a light mode speak very vocally about the changes made.

What changed?

Discord has changed many minor elements – the green color for notifications, the colors of the notifications themselves about someone writing something to us on the server, the colors of the icons, and of course the color of the citation that irritates the most. This is what we’re writing about:

These changes are probably dictated by the desire to increase the contrast for people who may have problems with it. It’s just that the users did not ask for it, but now they demand the possibility of restoring the old colors.

If you thought that Discord is somehow darker (the background is blacker, more vivid), you are not crazy, DC has really updated it, although it is difficult to spot bigger changes on the dark mode.
