Twitch is removing another feature that supposedly people haven’t used. There will be no more friends system

Twitch gets rid of another of its functions, this time it’s about the friends system.

Twitch was intended to be a full-fledged social platform many years ago. In the end, nothing came of it, and the personalization of profiles really ended with the panels under the stream. One of the functions that was once developed and that was supposed to play an important role on TTV was friends.

Today, hardly anyone talks with each other directly on Twitch, adding people to their friends. That’s why the platform said it would get rid of adding people to friends next month.

“Friends” will be deleted

The removal date for this system is scheduled for May 25, 2022.

Twitch has added a special message on this topic in which they explain their motivation. But nothing specific follows from it, it will just be removed because it didn’t work out.

If you have used it, you must forget about it. In the age of Discord, Facebook, or other media, it won’t be too difficult.
