Twitch is planning huge changes. There will be more advertising, less money for streamers. There are pluses too

Entertaining

According to the latest information, Twitch plans to strongly change its platform. Much has been said about changes in the distribution of advertising profits or the lack of exclusivity.

According to Bloomberg, this summer, Twitch will experience new changes that will primarily affect streamers. Secondly, viewers – the platform is to rebuild its advertising system, which ultimately means that there will be more ads.

The profit split will change, streamers will be offered a 50/50 split instead of 70/30, which is obviously worse.

What else will change?

Twitch can change the approach to partnership altogether and create specific thresholds, contracts may start to include non-exclusivity clauses – this is a really big step forward that will make many people think more about switching from YT to Twitch.

For now, the changes are described in a very vague way. It is known that Twitch wants to change something in the advertising and profit-sharing system. There will probably be more ads in new formats. All of this is coming this summer as long as TTV doesn’t change their mind.
