Massive layoffs at Twitch. Several hundred people had to say goodbye to their positions

Twitch had to say goodbye to 400 people. Although this is still a “mild” version, as Amazon has laid off 9,000 employees overall.

Twitch employees were supposed to be more in general, but at this point, it is not going to happen. Growing user numbers and insufficient advertising have translated into layoffs. It is unclear which departments are affected.

Usually, such layoffs in the industry imply a desire for reorganization. So it is not necessarily that this is some very bad news. Some people may have been doing unnecessary things, for example.

Twitch is laying off people

The layoffs are strictly Amazon-related, although Twitch says in its official communication that TTV has also been affected:

Increased user numbers and advertising issues pushed Amazon to make this decision.

This is certainly a concern, although for the average user, probably not much will change.
