The statistics after the M4a1-s nerf in CSGO leave no doubt. What is gaining popularity now?

Counter Strike

Valve decided to weaken the M4a1-s, and the effects of it in the statistics did not take long.

The last major update weakened the M4a1-s, which was clearly reflected in the statistics. Valve very rarely balances weapons, and it’s hardly surprising now. The match data sites show that the nerf was of great importance to the overall stats.

It should come as no surprise that the M4a1-s’s popularity has declined, though it’s not the only statistic to worsen. As players show, the number of eliminations from this particular weapon dropped by 10% within 10 days.

A big decline in one weapon and an increase in the other

The dips were shown by “itspureskillgg”. The orange, dashed line is the period before the update, the red one is the update itself, and the dashed green line is the time after the update.

People are opting for the M4A4 much more often now – when one weapon loses, the other naturally gains.

This is hardly surprising to most players, but you can see why Valve is cautious about balancing. 10% changes are a lot when it comes to CS: GO.
