The Russians have actually been restricted on Steam. Players cannot buy or sell anything
The Russians were not banned, although such information is appearing all over the world. They were blocked from making any transactions.
Much has been said in recent days about the possible consequences for Russian players. It turns out that there has indeed been a certain blockade, but only when it comes to payments. The Russians are unable to buy, sell or make any transactions.
It is about payment systems that have been blocked. When somebody tries to buy a game, they get an error stating that the payment method is not available at the moment.
Russians cannot buy anything on Steam
Information about the blockade of payments was provided, among others, by the Polish streamer Bonkol. Apparently, it is not only about a bank account but also about PayPal.
The Russian streamer confirms the blockade of every single paymenty method on Steam for accounts registered in Russia.
It doesn’t make a difference whether somebody tries to use a card, PayPal or any other system – every single one shows the same message.

It was expected that sooner or later some restrictions would also affect the players themselves. The only question is whether it will end there. The network is still boiling over the proposals and petitions to block the Russians in general.
