Professional CSGO players have been using one aspect ratio for years. What do the best of them use?
68% of players with a rating above 1.09 use the same aspect ratio. Is this the best option?
Aspect ratio in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is an important setting that affects field of view, game performance, and character width.
This option is individual and everyone should adjust it to their liking, but the starting player may have some doubts about their choice and prefer to follow the professionals. What resolution do pro players use?
Why 4:3 is the most often used option?
The following infographic shows that 68% of pros with a rating above 1.09 use a 4:3 aspect ratio, but in general the vast majority of players use it and it is even difficult to find exceptions. S1mple, XANTRES, and NiKO also use it.
Most professionals choose 4:3 due to the habit from CS 1.6 when everyone used it. Although this option reduces the field of view of the player and makes the characters move a bit faster, it increases the performance of the game and broadens the opponent’s models.
Everyone should adjust it for themselves, but at the very beginning it is worth trying out the settings of pro players, and then modifying them. This is a great way to create your own comfortable config.
