The Sims 4 will soon be available for free. For how long?

Will The Sims 4 be free to play?
The developers on the official profiles of The Sims have announced that The Sims 4 is to become a free game. Starting October 18, the game will be available to download completely free on Origin and Steam platforms, as well as on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series XS and Xbox One consoles.
