Should the family visiting system in TS4 be repaired? Sim kicked out of their home for cooking
Some of the elements and mechanics of The Sims 4 are really pointless, and this is another example of that.
It often happens that during a multi-generational challenge or an ordinary turn-based game, we want to separate families into several different properties, because we recognize that someone should live separately or teenagers simply become adults and want to live “on their own”.
Then it is usually the case that Sims who have moved away from our active family visit us very often or vice versa – we decide to visit them. In real life, it is rather normal for an adult child to visit his parents at their home. They should be able to shower or cook something and there should be nothing wrong with that.
It’s different in The Sims 4. No matter how close we are to or related to the Sim we are visiting, we may be kicked out of the house for such behavior. Simmers say that this system should have been fixed long ago because it is very unrealistic.
Some Sims shouldn’t be kicked out
One player shared a short story on Reddit with other Simmers that would be really absurd in real life, but in The Sims 4, it is normal. The author’s Sim moved away from his family to start his own adult life. He visited the family for Christmas to help with preparation and cooking and was kicked out of the house by his father. Sounds ridiculous, right?
My sim moved out of his family home to start his own life. It’s winterfest so he decides to go home, spend it with family for the day. He starts by helping out and cooking a grandmeal but ends up being kicked out by his dad for being inappropriate. Needless to say he never went back to visit again.
Commenting on the entry unanimously admitted that this system is really stupid and the creators should do something about it. Players argue that visiting a family should be seen by Sims in a completely different way than if a regular friend or former acquaintance would do.
I genuinely think that is silly. I think kids or parents should be given an allowance out of that. I would have loved loved if my primary could visit his adult child on his own and randomly cook for the house. I think it’s an oversight.
Some even noticed that the game allows complete strangers to visit our family and cook a cake as if nothing happened, which is also terribly strange. Then, however, Sims’ behavior is somehow not considered inappropriate and is not thrown from the host’s house.
Ok, but everyone can come to my sims house and make white cakes?!?! Why doesn’t it stop them and kick them out for being inappropriate?

It turns out there is a solution for this. And no, it’s not about installing mods, although there are of course mods for that. It’s about aspiration rewards and points our Sims can collect.
Thanks to them, we have a choice of several potions, but also features. One of them is the “Always Welcome” feature for 500 points, which allows our Sims to feel at ease in any home they visit, and the host will never be disturbed by any Sim behavior that would otherwise be considered inappropriate.
Even though this method is not difficult at all, as you only need to collect 500 points, players still argue that the entire system of visiting family and friends should be fixed. Considering that the creators of The Sims 4 like to positively surprise their players and introduce interesting updates in recent times, there is a chance for it to be issued.
