Water Festival 2022 event in Pokemon GO. Everything you need to know, a list of all attractions

The creators of Pokemon GO have revealed what the next event in the game will look like.

Another event will start soon, this time related to water creatures. On this occasion, the game will feature many interesting attractions.

Players will be able to catch many water Pokemon, take part in a global challenge or perform Special Research and Timed Research tasks. What do you need to know about the upcoming event? When exactly will it start and how long will it take?

Water Festival in Pokemon GO

The event will start on May 12, 2022 (Thursday), and will last until May 20, 2022 (Friday).

On this occasion, the following attractions are planned:

  • Lapras with a scarf, Dewpider, Araquanid, and the legendary Tapu Fini will make their debut in Pokemon GO.
  • The shiny version of Binacle will appear in the game for the first time.
  • The following Pokemon will appear in the wild: Tentacool, Slowpoke, Goldeen, Staryu, Magikarp, Marill, Lotad, Surskit, Carvanha, Wailmer, Tympole, Binacle, and Dewpider.
    • Anyone who is lucky will come across Poliwhirl, Mantine, and Alomomola.
  • The 7-kilometer-long eggs will hatch: Psyduck, Azurill, Mantyke, Mudkip, Feebas, Binacle, Staryu and Clamperl.
  • The opponents of the event will appear in raids:
    • 1-star raids: Qwilfish, Wailmer, Spritzee, Helioptile, Rockruff,
    • 3-star raids: Alolan Raichu, Lapras with a scarf, Feraligatr, Azumarill, Ludicolo,
    • 5-star raid: Tapu Fini,
    • Mega Raid: Mega Blastoise.
  • From the Field Research tasks you will be able to receive:
    • Magikarp, Carvanha, Wailmer, Luvdisc, Binacle or Dewpider,
    • anyone lucky will get a Lapras with a scarf or Marilla,
    • besides, you will be able to get Blastoise Mega Energy and Gyarados Mega Energy.
  • The event Timed Research will be active in the game, from which you will be able to receive, among others 50 x Gyarados Mega Energy, 1000 XP and 1000 x Stardust.
  • There will also be an event Special Research – Season of Alola Special Research: Poni Island.
  • From May 11, a global challenge will be active:
    • global challenge: trainers must catch 600,000,000 water Pokémon,
    • Reward for participating in the global challenge: double candies for catching Pokemon.
  • Thematic cosmetic accessories will appear in the store.

The following bonuses will be active during the in-game event:

  • The Rainy Lure Module activated during the event will last 2 hours.
  • Hatching eggs will give you twice as much candy.
  • The player will receive more Candy XL for hatching eggs.
