Solstice Horizons event in Pokemon GO. Everything you need to know

The developers of Pokemon GO have announced a new event that will provide many interesting attractions.


The game’s upcoming event will be called Solstice Horizons, and in addition to bonuses, a collector’s challenge, or themed raids, it will make other Pokemon appear in the wild during the day and at night.

The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. local time on Friday, June 16, and will last until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2023.

Take the opportunity to see what Pokémon are active during your favorite times during the Solstice Horizons event, featuring Pokémon associated with day and night!

Solstice Horizons in Pokemon GO

The following attractions are scheduled for the occasion:

  • Pokemon that will appear more frequently in the wild during the day: Ledyba, Murkrow, Solrock, Drifloon, Purrloin, Sewaddle, Cottonee, Petilil, Fomantis.
    • Anyone who is lucky will meet Hisuian Sneasel.
  • Pokémon that will appear more often in the wild at night: Oddish, Spinarak, Misdreavus, Lunatone, Stunky, Venipede, Foongus, Phantump, Fomantis.
    • Anyone who is lucky will meet Sneasel.
  • The following bonuses will be active during the event:
    • 2 × Stardust for catching Pokémon.
    • Lunatone and Solrock will appear in the wild during the event, regardless of location.
  • Event opponents will appear in raids:
    • 1-star raids: Sneasel, Hisuian Sneasel, Rockruff, Fomantis,
    • 3-star raids: Noctowl, Espeon, Umbreon, Staraptor,
    • 5-star raid: Nihilego,
    • Mega Raid: Mega Sceptile.
  • Field Research with the Solstice Horizons event theme will be available.

Special Research among the stars

A unique story will be available for $5 as part of the “Starry Skies” Special Research.

Tickets for this Special Research, which leads to an encounter with Cosmog, will be available from 10:00 a.m. local time on Friday, June 16 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2023.

Ticket holders will gain access to the story in Special Research during the Solstice Horizons event.

 To receive the Special Research, you must open Pokémon GO at some point between Friday, June 16, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. and Sunday, June 25, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time. After you’ve received the Special Research, you can complete it at any time.
